Bee is a founding member and teacher of Farm School NYC, which offers urban agriculture training through a two-year certificate program as well as a range of individual courses. Farm School NYC courses are taught by experts in the field and focus on a wide range of topics from social justice issues, to urban planting techniques, to grassroots community organizing. Farm School NYC’s mission is to train NYC residents in urban agriculture in order to build self-reliant communities and inspire positive local action around food access and social, economic, and racial justice issues. Through engaging, place-based education, Farm School classes cultivate future leaders in NYC’s food justice movement. Learn more about Farm School NYC.
Bee co-founded the The Youth Farm in 2009 with bk farmyards, one of NYC largest urban farms. The Youth Farm is an education-focused production farm in Brooklyn that offers New Yorkers opportunities to increase their knowledge of the food system and build high level organic growing skills to share with their communities. The Youth Farm grows organic food and flowers on one acre for the community and beyond, and offers advanced farm training and leadership opportunities for youth and adults.
BK Farmyards is a collective of experienced urban farmers dedicated to expanding food justice through agricultural production & education in Brooklyn. Since 2009, we have kickstarted 2.0 acres of new farmyards spread across several farm sites in Brooklyn. We consult on new urban farm developments and host online agricultural training events and courses available to audiences around the world. We specialize in building production farms with an educational and training component for those who want to learn more about how to grow their own food.
In 2010 we designed and built a coop for 50 chickens at the Imani Garden in partnership with New York Restoration Project. Our chicken farm lovingly called “Fort Hen” serves as an educational site for chicken keeping in the city for community members, apprentices and provides free community workshops and field trips. In the spring of 2012 several of our past chicken apprentices took over management of the operation!

NYC Farm Incubator
Bee was a founding member of NYC Farm Incubator, a site that would bring new farmer development and farm incubation together with community food, agricultural and environmental education. The site would serve aspiring urban farmers and those looking to eventually relocate and scale up their farm business on peri-urban or rural farmland. The project is now on pause
Sister Liqueurs came out of Bee’s love for making liqueurs and drinking cocktails with friends. A CSA for handmade Liqueurs using organic herbs, spices, fruits and vegetables grown in Brooklyn, Sister Liqueurs had monthly
membership meetings in the form of cocktail parties. Sister Liqueurs is currently on hiatus.
